Welcome to the New Milford Fire Protection District website. From our inception in January of 1948, we strive to provide the very best fire and ambulance service to our district. Our district consists of approximately 15 square miles of farmland, industry, and homes protected mostly by volunteer men and women who have dedicated themselves to the highest
of standards of professionalism.
New Milford Fire has 1 engine, 2 tenders, 1 rescue squad, 1 rescue boat, 1 grass rig, and 2 ambulances. New Milford Fire is also a member of MABAS Division 8 . We respond wherever needed 24/7.
Under the leadership of Chief Alan Carlson, the department now employs 5 full time personnel for the ambulance, (including himself as the first full time Fire Chief), 2 paid on call Deputy Chiefs, 1 paid on call Captain, 4 paid on call Lieutenants, and 17 paid on call firefighters.
